This lady is not beautiful. Nope, I assure you, not going to appear on a magazine as a model. Did I want to change things about me?
Hmm, be thinner or taller or "prettier" or have straight hair when mine was curly, or be tanner, or have no freckles?
Yep, Yes, Si'. I sure did, at different times in my life.

And then one day, I woke up.
And looked at that face in the mirror.
And stopped sticking my tongue out at my reflection.
I started telling myself the same things I tell my children.
I started smiling when I got a compliment, instead of coming up with a reason it wasn't true.
I began to accept me.

And guess what???? One day, I decided I like me.
Hehe, good thing, Because....
WE CANNOT BE ANYONE ELSE BUT OURSELVES.

~And that IS good enough!

Don't Wait to Start Enjoying Your Life!

Jan 1, 2013
I thought long and hard on this...

So many things we tell ourselves we will do. So many good things, so many "shoulds", so many" if only's"...
It is the things that will bless us And bless our loved ones that will matter in the long run.
And the funny thing, as we start down the road to enjoying what we do, in the moment... Our lives become better, and the lives of those we love become better.
I believe in you.

One step at a time, and Keep on Stepping... Until you Dance to the rhythm, and the days become Better.

I struggle too. I have my "shoulds", hmmn, I should exercise more, or ride my bike more, I should have a lovely clean living room with no mess (Ha! Teenagers at my house!), I should have saved more, or done more, or do more.....

And I was miserable when the "shoulds" ran my life. And my family was pretty miserable, too.

And one day, I stopped wearing the dark colors, you know the "should if you are well rounded" colors... And picked out the Red.
And guess what? I feel Joyous in Red!

I stopped fretting about the "shoulds" that a person with no inner clock will ever get... And Accepted myself. And my family just stepped up and tracked the things they were actually responsible for. OK, that one didn't happen overnight, hehe.

I stopped worrying about my diet, and just started eating well. Smaller, frequent meals, And Yes, that includes my chocolate! And I lost over 65 pounds without trying. And I stopped being hungry 24/7. That didn't happen overnight, but it was faster than any "diet" I had ever been on before.

Why did I do these things? I wanted to be Happy. I wanted the Joy back. And I found it.

I didn't decide it all in one day. It evolved. And if you are reading this, you, too, want to be Joyful.

Don't Wait to Start
Enjoying Your Life!
Once you start
seeing the difference
You will
Keep On Going!

Start the Joy Today! Now!

Love, and Joy, and Music.

Lost in music, I do love guitar.
It's funny how many memories are tied into music that we hear.
When I hear children singing the same songs that I learned as a child, I get mental pictures of the dear people that taught me music, my mother, my family, school teachers over the years.

Some Christmas songs remind me of family, others of my teen years. There are songs that remind me of when my children were tiny. I remember singing "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" at the top of my lungs driving late one night through Caracas. The first time I heard Jose Feliciano sing "Felíz Navidad" I had newly arrived in Mexico, and didn't even know Spanish. It was how I learned to pronounce it, hehe.

There are songs that remind me of other years and other times. And it becomes a living photo album. All I have to do is close my eyes, and the people live again.

How rich is our life when we have Love, and Joy, and Music.
